Re: Nozzle Weld Test Assembly (Refer to Protech Dwg. 107321-D1)

I have reviewed your equipment with the specific intention of assessing its ability to test nozzle to cylinder welds succesfully. I offer the following comments:

When used correctly to perform hydrostatic or pressure tests of nozzles into piping or cylindrical vessels this testing assembly does not in any way interfere with the intention or requirement of the codes typically associated with the same, namely the ASME Section VIII Division 1 and the ANSI B31.3.

Further qualifying the above statement, the testing will introduce an increase in the longitudinal and circimferential stresses over a local area only, namely at the weld uner investigation. Careful attention must be given to ensure the extent of this local area is sufficient. This will be specific to each individual test with such items as material thickness and nozzle size governing.

We hope these review comments are helpful in your intentions with this unique product.
